Alissa Gordon
Tutor Assistant

Alissa graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2005 with a degree in Social Science and minors in Psychology and Spanish. In the past, she has served as a mentor to children through Big Brothers/Big Sisters in California, a Program Coordinator for Meals on Wheels, and volunteered with a hospice. Her most memorable experience was volunteering with the American Red Cross in Louisiana one week after Hurricane Katrina. Alissa started at Horton’s Kids by dedicating one year of national service through AmeriCorps* VISTA and helped start a Sister Circle discussion group for the middle and high school girls. After finishing her VISTA term, she now works as a tutor assistant so she can continue to see the kids frequently.
