Program Director
Julie grew up in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania and graduated from Susquehanna University with a degree in Sociology. She interned with Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Bethesda Day Treatment Center in central Pennsylvania. Julie began with Horton's Kids as a volunteer in the summer of 2000 while working at the law firm of O'Connell and Glock, P.C. Julie rose through the ranks to become the Volunteer Coordinator and joined the staff full-time in 2002 as the Program Director.
As Program Director, Julie oversees the tutoring and mentoring programs including Monday and Tuesday tutoring and Sunday field trips. She coordinates volunteer activities, manages the databases, and arranges doctor and dental visits for the children.
Julie is an expert at logistics, she loves children, she has 95.5 programmed into her car radio, and she has completed the DC Youth Workers' training program Advancing Youth Development.
