Saira Haqqi VISTA Volunteer
Saira joined Horton’s Kids as an AmeriCorps VISTA in December, 2007. She is originally from Pakistan and moved to D.C. after graduating from Carleton College, MN with a major in Russian Studies and a minor in Gender Studies. Throughout her undergraduate years, she worked with the American Red Cross as well as a nearby elementary school. Currently, she works primarily on grantwriting and donor relations. She also researches healthcare issues, and helps with programs and special events.
