Once a month, volunteers and staff hop on yellow school buses to travel with children and their parents to exciting field trips in the DC area. The children spend valuable time with caring adults while roller skating, visiting museums, splashing around at the pool, and attending festivals.

Horton’s Kids also organizes activities to celebrate different holidays with the children and families throughout the year. In October, children always enjoy a Halloween Party, complete with costumes and crafts, and in November, you can find Horton’s Kids delivering Thanksgiving meals to families in the neighborhood. In December, holiday projects include providing each child with gifts and distributing Christmas trees to families.

Additionally, Horton’s Kids organizes enrichment events just for our older youth, including special college- and career-related field trips and discussion groups.
