Our Centers
Horton’s Kids Community Resource Hub
2233 Hunter Place SE Washington, DC 20020
As part of our Securing Futures for Southeast Campaign, Horton’s Kids now operates our largest location and staff headquarters Horton’s Hub and Community Resource Center. The space currently functions as our administrative offices as well as the Hub for all of our programming and distribution efforts.
Wellington Park Community Resource Center
2500 Pomeroy Rd. SE., Washington, DC 20020
Established in 2011 and renovated in 2012 through a partnership with the Food Network, the Wellington Park Community Resource Center is just steps away from the children’s homes. Equipped with bulletproof glass, the on-site Center is the only safe, consistent, and accessible source of fresh produce, healthy food, books, and computers for many children and families. The Center also provides participants’ families with the opportunity to regularly connect with our staff and creates an open line of communication toward the shared goal of supporting and empowering children for success.
Stanton Oaks Community Resource Center
2424 Elvans Rd. SE., Washington DC 20020
In October of 2020, Horton’s Kids opened our Stanton Oaks Community Resource Center in Southeast DC. The second Center, located about an 8-minute walk from our Wellington Park Center, serves children and families living in a housing community very similar to Wellington Park. The Oaks Center established Horton’s Kids as a community hub, offering programs and services to an additional 100 children and families.
The majority of Horton’s Kids programs take place at our Centers. Additionally, partner organizations, including DC Diaper Bank, Capital Area Food Bank, and the Wendt Center deliver services to Wellington Park families out of the Centers.
