Family Engagement Coordinator

Position Description

Horton’s Kids is seeking a Family Engagement Coordinator to support the planning and implementation of community-facing programming and outreach for all Horton’s Kids families and community members. The Family Engagement Coordinator will play a crucial role in promoting the stability, happiness, and connectedness of the Horton’s Kids community. This position will report directly to the Director of Family Engagement and will collaborate closely with both the Health and Wellness and Youth Programs teams. The ideal candidate is collaborative and a creative thinker, with excellent relationship building skills.

Salary: 40-45k

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Family and Community Outreach

  • Manage a caseload of HK families/households, ensuring they are supported and knowledgeable about Horton’s Kids programs
  • Design and implement a digital family outreach plan, including managing social media accounts and sending weekly family emails
  • Ensure Hortons Kids families remain enrolled and active
  • Implement parent feedback surveys and focus groups, as needed

Family Events and Distributions

  • Plan and host monthly parent events, like Family Game Night, to promote positive community development
  • Host annual community events and distributions
  • Coordinate across programs teams to ensure events are effective and incentivized

Parent Support and Coaching

  • Act as a Success Coach to family members, helping them develop and meet their personal goals
  • Create and maintain and print and digital job board, keeping content updated and available
  • Ensure families access and benefit from parent support programs
  • Support and assist families through personal life events, including unemployment, incarceration, and burial assistance


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Previous experience working in a community-based setting with children, youth, and/or adults, especially those who comes from systemically marginalized communities
  • Ability to connect with hard-to-reach youth and families
  • Must thrive in fast-paced environment and can work evenings and weekend days as needed
  • Driven to innovate and collaborate within a team setting
  • Organized and able to manage multiple systems to track data and distributions
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and social media; experience with Salesforce is a plus
  • Demonstrated commitment to racial equity and social justice for youth and families
